Here you will find information regarding your statutory pension and have the opportunity to notify us of any changes.
These pages will provide you with more information about the topic of pension payment. The core mission of the Renten Service is ensuring on-time, reliable and efficient payment of statutory pension as well as providing services related to private and company pension plans:
The energy relief payment (Energiepreispauschale) of €300 has been paid out by the Pensions Payment Offices. On your account statement the amount will be listed with the word “Energiepreispauschale” as a payment reference.
If you are entitled to the energy relief payment but have not yet received it, you can apply for retroactive payment. The application form can be found online at kbs.de/epp.
You can submit your application for retroactive payment between January 9 and June 30, 2023, to the following address: Deutsche Rentenversicherung Knappschaft-Bahn-See, 44781 Bochum, Germany. That’s the case regardless of which Pensions Payment Office is responsible for paying your regular pension payments.
General information on the energy relief payment for pensioners can be found online at bmas.de/entlastung-fuer-rentner or you can call the German Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS) at +49 (0)30 221 911 001 (Monday to Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.).
You will receive the pension receipt notification ("Information on the notification to tax authorities") from Deutsche Rentenversicherung. There you will find all amounts relevant under tax law, such as the pension amount and the health and long-term care insurance paid for the past calendar year.
Deutsche Rentenversicherung (DRV) will send the pension receipt notifications for 2022 to its beneficiaries by the end of February. You will automatically receive this notification if you have already applied for it once.
If you would like to apply for a pension receipt notification for the first time, you can do so simply and conveniently through Deutsche Rentenversicherung > Online service of Deutsche Rentenversicherung (eservice-drv.de)
You will need your insurance number for this. Notification will be returned by letter mail.
Deutsche Rentenversicherung will be happy to provide you with information on the pension receipt notification via the free service hotline at +49 (0)800 1000 4800
Monday to Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. and Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Note: the Pension Service cannot issue pension receipt notifications to you.
Do you live outside Germany and haven't received a pension payment since the end of November?
You haven’t received a pension payment since the end of November because Renten Service did not receive the completed and signed life certificate form within the deadline.
Please send us your life certificate, signed by you and officially confirmed, immediately so that we can resume your payments without delay. You will then also be reimbursed for all outstanding payments.

The average surcharge for statutory health insurance will increase as of January 1, 2023.
If your pension payment is affected by this change, this increase will impact the payment amount of your pension for the first time in January. You will be notified accordingly on the account statement with the credit note of your pension.
The statutory health insurers will additionally decide on an adjustment to the insurer-specific surcharge. If your pension payment is affected by this change, this increase will impact the payment amount of your pension for the first time in March. You will then be notified accordingly on the account statement with the credit note of your pension.
Due to a legislative amendment, you will no longer receive written information by letter mail as of 2023. You can receive detailed information by phone, at the internet page or in the members' magazine of your statutory health insurer, or via the citizens' health insurance hotline of the Federal Ministry of Health at +49 (0)30 340 60 66 01
The Pension Service cannot issue any information on your actual health insurance contribution.
