Can I notify my new bank account details through my new bank’s account switching service?
Yes. Your new bank's account switching service can inform payment partners of your new bank account details. Please ensure that Renten Service is included in the list of payment partners to be notified.
The account switching service can only be used if the pension beneficiary is the account holder or joint account holder.
Important: Your new bank must include your 17-digit pension insurance number in the notification. Otherwise, the account cannot be assigned correctly.
What should I do if I do not have a bank account?
You have a legal right to a bank account. If you are unable to open a current account, you are entitled to a basic account. A basic account is subject to fees. Please contact banks or savings banks for information about available services and charges.
What should I do if my new IBAN does not begin with DE?
In that case, this is not a bank account in Germany. Please use the New Account Italy or New Account Worldwide services.
