Joint Contribution to Climate Protection: expanding our measures in 2026

As one of Germany’s largest logistics providers, we are driving the decarbonization of our transport network together with our carrier partners. In 2026, we are significantly expanding our portfolio of measures with the goal of reducing even more CO₂e emissions and further strengthening sustainable transport solutions for our customers.

To make the transition to more sustainable technologies easier for our carrier partners, we are working to expand our existing offering beyond Bio-CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) to include attractive vehicle and fuel solutions for additional technologies. In the future, carriers will be able to choose the option that best fits their fleet and operational requirements, including Bio-CNG, Bio-LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas), electric vehicles, and HVO100 (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil).

That way, we help simplify investment decisions and accelerate the adoption of lower-emission technologies across our transport networks. Our goal is to work in partnership with our carriers, enabling us to make meaningful progress together on the path toward decarbonization.

Alongside these measures, we support our transportation partners through nationwide exchange and networking formats, such as our PACE events (Platform for the Exchange on (Bio-)CNG and electric mobility).

We are also strengthening the integration of sustainability criteria into our day-to-day collaboration with transport partners, creating tangible benefits for both sides. This includes:

• Regular information and consulting sessions at our operational sites, for example on alternative drive technologies

• Training materials and practical guidance

• Regular updates on new programs and offerings

In this way, we ensure that new technologies, funding opportunities, and best practices are shared quickly, transparently, and through close dialogue. Our goal is simple: to learn from one another and move forward together as partners.

What this means for you as a customer:

An increasing share of shipments is transported in close partnership with our carriers and with significantly lower CO₂e-emissions, delivering a solution that is more sustainable, reliable, and future-oriented.
