On March 11, 2026, the City of Oldenburg honored our project, “Making Sustainability Tangible: Electrifying Delivery Operations in Postal Code Areas,” with the newly established “klip 26” Climate Innovation Award in the Large Companies category. The award recognizes solutions that make a meaningful contribution to climate protection and demonstrate how innovation can create tangible impact in everyday life.

Making Sustainability Visible: 100% Electric Delivery

Our approach focuses on an area where sustainability becomes visible every day: in daily deliveries. At the heart of the project is the 100% electrification of postal code areas** through investments in expanding our electric vehicle fleet and charging infrastructure, as well as the strategic deployment of electric vehicles. This approach not only enables the implementation of CO2e-free logistics but also makes sustainability transparent and tangible for customers through a simple and clear message: “Deliveries in your postal code area are 100% electric.” A straightforward commitment that demonstrates how sustainable logistics can become part of everyday life.

A strong signal from Oldenburg

In Oldenburg, we operate 35 electric vehicles and 31 charging points, enabling us to electrify delivery operations across the entire city center. As a result, Oldenburg is among the regions benefiting particularly early and extensively from CO2e-free delivery services.

This achievement is part of a broader nationwide transformation. Up until now, we increased the share of fully electrified postal code areas across Germany to more than one in three postal code areas.** This marks a significant milestone on our journey toward CO2e-free delivery.

A scalable model for Germany

The award particularly recognizes our strategic approach:

  • Making sustainability easy to understand: By using postal codes as a point of reference, we create transparency. Customers can see at a glance which parts of the delivery journey are completed CO2e-free.

  • A systematic approach to electrification: Through the expansion of our electric vehicle fleet and the intelligent redistribution of electric vehicles, we are creating CO2e-free delivery zones. Much like a puzzle, the full picture emerges by fitting the right pieces together.

  • Scalability and transferability: Following initial implementations in other cities, Oldenburg serves as another building block for a nationwide rollout model.

In this way, a technical project becomes a socially relevant solution that is visible every day through millions of delivery interactions.

Why This Award Matters to Us

The Climate Innovation Award highlights the significance of our commitment to sustainable logistics at the local level. It recognizes:

  • Our responsibility as a major transport provider in urban areas, helping to shape city logistics.

  • Our innovation leadership in CO2e-free delivery.

  • Our ambition to develop sustainable solutions where they create tangible value.

We look forward to continuing this journey toward more sustainable logistics together with our customers, partners, and many more cities across Germany.
