Information on the life certificate 2023

Important note: In 2023, the original life certificate must once again be submitted by mail.

In the event that you, as a beneficiary of a Germany pension, live abroad, you will generally receive the life certificate every year together with your pension adjustment notification

These will be generated and sent in the period between June and July 2023

If you receive several pensions from different pension insurance institutes, you may receive multiple life certificate forms with your pension adjustment notification. In this case, you would need to complete all of the life certificate forms and return the original (do not fax or e-mail them).

In the event you have received a pension adjustment notification without the life certificate form, you are not required to submit a life certificate this year. You do not need to take any further action.

Note: If you live in a country where electronic cross-checking is carried out, you will not receive a life certificate at regular intervals.

This affects the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

a) The life certificate will be sent to you by mail

If you receive the life certificate form by mail, please check the information in Part A. This part contains your personal data. If they are correct, please sign the life certificate in person and have it confirmed by an official body (Part B)
