30.01.2013 - New root and Signtrust service certificates / Signature verification issues

The system-level transition from certification service provider Deutsche Post Com GmbH, Business Division Signtrust, to certification service provider Deutsche Post Signtrust and DMDA GmbH was completed on January 28, 2013. All certificates produced from this date onwards shall be issued by certification service provider Deutsche Post Signtrust and DMDA, including the issuance of new root certificates from the supervisory authority, the German Federal Network Agency (BNetzA). The new service certificates are now available in the Download Center.
Several technical issues are currently being experienced in the verification of certificates, with specific reference to signature application components. These issues shall be remedied as soon as the manufacturer can provide the end customer an updated Trust List. The providers are aware of the issues, and measures are being taken to find a short-term solution.

1.6.2012 - More security with SSL certificates
From 1 July newly approved, organisationally checked SSL certificates from our partner and certificate issuer, Comodo CA Limited, will be subject to additional telephone verification by the applicant. This means more security for the domain's owner and visitors. Expanding the Comodo testing guidelines satisfies the requirements adopted by the Certificate Authority and Browser Forum for issuing and managing certificates
(http://www.cabforum.org/Baseline_Requirements_V1.pdf), which, effective 1 July, are binding for all major certificate issuers and browser makers and ensure greater web communication security.
