Downstream access mail

If you post your mail items at the mail center, you can get additional discounts as part of the downstream access contracts. The following conditions apply:

Posting of nationwide items

• You post a minimum of 5,000 mail items in standard, "Kompakt" or postcard formats or a minimum of 500 "Groß" or "Maxi" mail items
• The items are pre-sorted and sequentially numbered
• The items are machine-readable
• The items have been franked using IT franking, a franking machine or Deutsche Post franking service
• According to the volume of items sent a discount is granted on the postage costs of 22% to 37% for standard letters and 20% to 35% for "Kompakt" letters, "Groß" letters, "Maxi" letters, and postcards.

Posting of regional items (additional conditions)

• You post a minimum of 250 mail items in standard, "Kompakt" or postcard formats or a minimum of 100 "Groß" or "Maxi" mail items
• The recipients are within the mail center region
• According to the volume of items sent a discount is granted on the postage costs of 40% for standard format letters and 38% for "Kompakt" letters, "Groß" letters, "Maxi" letters, and postcards.
